Requirements

  • Proficiency in English (working level)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and practices (local laws and international standards – IFRS)
  • Proficiency in accounting software. Ajur is preferable (experience with QuickBooks is a plus) and advanced Excel skills
  • Good understanding of business travel and social insurance regulations
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Record and monitor operations in accounting software, ensuring supplier invoices and financial transactions comply with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Review and verify monthly VAT records, prepare VAT declarations, and ensure timely filing of financial reports required by the Bulgarian National Statistical Institute (NSI) and the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), including SBP forms, in coordination with the Chief Accountant
  • Identify and resolve financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information, verifying accruals, and reconciling balances
  • Prepare accruals for expenses, deferred costs, and obligations for unused paid leave on a quarterly basis to support quarter-end closures
  • Participate in the annual inventory of assets, receivables, and payables
  • Support the Chief Accountant in the preparation of quarterly and annual Individual and Consolidated Reporting Packages under IFRS.
  • Prepare quarterly reconciliations of fixed and non-current assets, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Generate specialized internal financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account data
  • Provide documentation for audits and internal reviews
  • Collaborate with external accountants, auditors, and regulatory agencies when necessary
