The Internet Chess Club (ICC), founded in 1995, is one of the oldest and most respected online platforms for playing and learning the game of chess. It offers real-time games, tournaments, puzzles, instructional lectures, private coaching, and live broadcasts of top-level events.
Now web-based, ICC combines its rich tradition with modern features, remaining a respected hub for chess players worldwide.

Project Goals
The core challenge for ICC was modernizing a legacy chess platform—originally built in the 1990s—into a seamless, web-based experience without losing the community, features, and historical identity that made it one of the world’s most respected online chess hubs.
This required balancing tradition with innovation, migrating from outdated downloadable clients, and introducing modern functionality such as live puzzles, video integration, and real-time play, all while ensuring scalability and ease of use for a global audience.
